Our Story

 

We are Ray and Daphne Boskey and we have been running Devilish Desires since 2004. We were married in 1968 and developed an interest in BDSM fairly soon afterwards (although we didn’t know it was called that back then). Finding out about things wasn’t easy in the early days – there was no Internet or even video at that time so books and films (8mm) were hard to come by. We did visit shops in Soho but books were shrink-wrapped so you only had the cover to go by. Does anyone remember books by Victor Bruno? - Very lurid illustrations and often not very practical. However, we mainly just experimented with what felt right for us. We’ve never been heavily into whipping (which is why you won’t find pages of whips on our website) but were more into trying less usual things like weights and clamps. In the early 80’s we joined an organization called Motivation – anyone old enough to remember? – dedicated to BDSM. A couple made contact with us and we met up on a regular basis for fun weekends. We went to a party with them where we met others in the scene including Master Keith who was quite a celebrity at the time. He invited us to parties at his house and we became inaugural members of The Gate Club when it started.

 

We aim to provide people in the BDSM scene with superior toys that can be used over and over again which is why we have settled on the range of items we now have available.

 

Our criteria when adding something new to our range are as follows:

 

It must be good quality – everything we sell is backed by our Lifetime Guarantee.

It must be hygienic – cleanable by boiling or putting in a dishwasher or autoclave.

It must be value for money – our toys aren’t necessarily cheap but they will last a lifetime.

Where possible it must be versatile – many of our toys have more than one use for each item.
